International Partner Church Projects
Presenter: Lee Boeke-Burke
Learn about the initiatives being made today by the UU Partner Church Council and other UU groups working in various parts of the world. Connections are being made with Unitarians in India and Africa and UUs in the Philippines as well as the Unitarians of Eastern Europe. New programs such as the Community Capacity Building Program which helps to empower communities to make and move on their own development decisions are starting to make a positive impact in many poor villages in the Philippines and Romania. This presentation will also focus on the amazing UUs of the Philippines through many images, personal stories and some basic information.
Lee Boeke Burke, a Fellowship member who also works part time for the UU Partner Church Council as Outreach Coordinator, will share what she has been learning in this presentation. She will also be recently back from her second trip to the Philippines.

CCUU Partner Church Social Action Team
In March 2007, 12 members and friends from our Fellowship traveled to New Orleans where they worked in the buildings for Community Church Unitarian Universalist (CCUU), our Partner Church, and helped in some private homes. The spirit of the people of New Orleans, who continue to struggle to rebuild their city, touched all who went. As of the date of this printing, there is another week-long work trip scheduled for March 2008. Members from both work groups will share their experiences through photos and stories, update you on the progress the city is making, and talk about ways that we can continue to support CCUU and help the people of New Orleans.
