New Task Forces!

This spring we are celebrating the launch of our new Social Justice Ministry program. After a great deal of conversation and re-organizing and prioritizing, as of this writing we have five new Social Justice Task Forces in motion. We will also continue to support the social justice work of our partners ESTHER (the Fox Valley's interfaith social justice network) and the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC). All Fellowship members and friends are warmly invited to get involved with any of these Social Justice activities that will do your heart good and fit in your life. Check the Social Justice bulletin board for updates and meeting dates. Questions? Compassion for Human Rights and Diversity Task Force
Mission/Purpose: This Task Force works to promote the cause of human rights for all people, that they may be treated with dignity, justice and understanding, regardless of gender, age, race, ethnicity, class, religion, disability or sexual orientation. This will be done through advocacy, dialogue, dissemination of information and service. We will encourage involvement of the congregation in multicultural and interfaith collaborative work with other local, national and international organizations and faith bodies, including the UUA and UUSC on matters of human rights. This will include creating volunteer opportunities for the congregation and community building activities.

Criminal Justice
The Criminal Justice Task Force is now official! A Restorative Justice prison ministry team joined us in May to discuss this amazing, powerful healing program and answer questions about how Fellowship members could participate. The Task Force meets the first Wednesday of each month at 7pm, at the Fellowship.
