Walk with Dottie!

Celebrate the Installation of our new Associate Minister, Rev. Dottie Mathews, on October 12th.

On the weekend of October 11th and 12th (at all four services) we will have Dottie’s “installation” where she will be formally welcomed as our Associate Minister following our exciting congregational vote at last May’s Annual Meeting. Rather than a celebratory party to mark this occasion, Dottie has asked that we join her on the local Crop Walk to end hunger. This is an annual event in the Fox Cities and it raises tens of thousands of dollars to provide needed food for people near and far. More information will follow but, for now, please mark you calendars to come walk with our ministers the afternoon of Sunday, October 12th!

Upcoming Social Action Sponsored Fellowship Wednesdays:

      Vermicomposting
Wednesday, October 22

Facilitator:  Mary Kohrell
Participants: Min. 10 /Max. 30

Worms are slimy, gooey, and cool creatures that are sometimes a part of the interdependent web of life that we take for granted.  During this program, participants will have a squirmin’ good time learning about vermicomposting—using red worms to help us compost and produce a natural fertilizer.  If you’re looking for a better way to dispose of kitchen scraps, vermicomposting may be a good option.

Mary Kohrell is Calumet County’s Community Development Educator with UW Extension.  She is certified as a Master Composter, and has been providing education on various forms of composting for nearly a decade.  She also enjoys spending time at home with worms and other decomposers.

Appleton North High School's Theatre Seminar performing “Much Like You.”
Wednesday, January 14

Facilitators:  Appleton No. HS Theatre Seminar
Participants: Min. 10

Appleton North High School’s Theatre Seminar will present an original play on disability awareness called “Much Like You.”  Following the performance, the audience will have an opportunity to dialogue with the theatre company about the production and their understanding of disability awareness.  This eye-opening play, which engages the audience both emotionally and intellectually, has been enthusiastically received by youth and adults.

The Appleton North High School Theatre Seminar is a class at North that focuses on theatre and among other things writes and produces plays.
