7. We care for Earth’s lifeboat. 2. Words and actions of wise and brave people that make us want to change things that are unjust or cruel, and to offer kindness and love instead; 3. Ideas from lots of different religions that help us figure out what is good an true and fair; 4. Jewish and Christian teachings that encourage us to treat others the way we would like to be treated; 5. Ideas of people who believe in the goodness and power of human beings, who remind us to use science, common sense, and our own brains to think things out;

Program Year Schedule and Information (September through May)
Nursery Care Staffed child care is provided for children birth to age three in our dedicated nursery during every worship service. Parents are asked to bring their well infant or toddler to the nursery several minutes before the beginning of a scheduled worship. We endeavor to provide young children with a warm, accepting, and safe space in which to become acquainted with our faith community. Every effort is made to assure that children are content and engaged during the time their parents are in worship. Parents will be notified if their presence is needed for the welfare of their child by a pager system.
This Montessori based curriculum was created especially for liberal faith traditions. We have adapted the curriculum to discuss the “promises” of the UU faith. (“Promises” is used in placed of principles.) There is ritual in the classroom which allows for the young children to hear and experience a story, as well as choose appropriate work based on the story. Some of the work may include painting, play-do, role playing, drawing, etc.
Free to Believe (1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade)
This experiential based program allows the young people to explore the UU principles as a starting point for examining their values, beliefs and UU identity. This program also allows the children to look at some of the larger questions of faith as the year continues.
Spirit of Adventure (4th and 5th grade)
This curriculum is a fun and unique way for those who participate to begin looking, not only at the principles in their own lives, but how famous UUs in history have embodied certain principles. The young people will be asked to begin applying the beliefs to their own lives.
