An Introduction to Anima Mundi
Sunday, November 2; 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Facilitator:  Barbara Kaufmann
Participants: Min. 4 /Max. 12

This course offers a chance to explore Amina Mundi—the indwelling Spirit.  View the natural world from a shaman’s “eyes to see”, and hear the voice of Spirit (Manitou) in everything with a shaman’s “ears to hear.”  Learn to find the divine in all spaces, places, and beings.  Understand how your companion animals just might be your nearest spiritual teachers.  You know about the interconnected web of life—but that’s only knowing with the mind.  If you want to feel it and know it in your heart, come and join us for an afternoon of communication and communion with Anima Mundi.

Barbara Kaufmann is a lifelong healer, published author and artist.  A nurse, ordained minister, Shaman, animal communicator and energy practitioner, Barbara holds a business degree in Management, is a Nurse/Respiratory Care Specialist and is trained in Geo Tran, Psych-K, Cranial Sacral Therapy, and Possibilities DNA. She is also an Avatar Master.  Since 2003, she has worked with Penelope Smith in Animal Communication and with her Shaman and mentor, Spirithealer Carla.

B Alford is a member of the Fellowship,  has been a student of meditation and yoga for over 26 years, and has been studying Anusara Yoga since 1998.  Her love of the life-affirming philosophy of this Yoga is evident in every class. Her students are inspired to connect with their own inner light and strength through the age-old practices of chanting, yoga asana, breathing techniques and meditation.  She believes that Yoga can be a gateway to the Divine mystery in our own hearts.  She began teaching yoga in 1998 when she first opened the Yoga Studio in downtown Appleton.  She now teaches smaller, more therapeutic classes, teaches privately, sings Eastern-Indian-style Kirtan, and continues to write and perform her own music playing guitar, mandolin, and harmonica.  Her two most recent CDs, “Love Cracked Me Open” and “Merry Go Round” are available at the FVUUF Bookstore and online at CDBaby.com.

FELLOWSHIP WEDNESDAY PROGRAM
Financial Choices and Challenges: Past, Present and Future
Wednesday, November 12; 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Facilitator:  Alan Prahl
Participants: Min. 10

In the past, bankers were conservative, it was difficult to get a loan, credit cards were scarce, and cash-based spending was common. What happened? Individual priorities and values, expectations, and the economy have all drastically changed, and life has become more challenging for many people.

In this 1.5-hour session, we will compare past and present financial choices, and explore probable future financial challenges.

Alan Prahl is the Education Manager for FISC.   FISC (Financial Information and Services Center) is an agency of Goodwill.  Its mission is to help families and individuals improve the quality of their lives through the application of sound financial principles.  Alan has taught hundreds of workshops and is delighted to teach and discuss practical financial topics.

Heart-to-Heart:  A Couples’ Enrichment Weekend Retreat
FALL RETREAT
November 14 – 16, 2008
Friday evening 6:00 PM through Sunday afternoon, 3:00 PM

A couple's enrichment weekend retreat is being offered by FVUUF.  This weekend retreat is open to all couples committed to their partners and to their relationships.  Same-sex and opposite sex, married and unmarried couples are all welcome.

The Heart to Heart Retreat is patterned on the well-known Marriage Encounter Program and although our presentations come from a Unitarian Universalist perspective, the opportunities extend far beyond any boundaries of faith.

This will be an opportunity to focus on your relationship and to deal with important issues.  This weekend experience is designed to enrich the communications and intimacy of your relationship by emphasizing personal reflection and couple dialogue.  A team of experienced Unitarian Universalist volunteer couples will lead you through a series of presentations.  Participants are not asked to share with the group, but rather, to spend time writing in their journals and then talking privately with their partner.

Registration deadline in October 1, 2008.  Last year there were couples on the waiting list so please do not delay your registration.
